The Rialto, California-born head turner chose a career path that boldly celebrates sexuality, as an adult film actress. The road to success has comes with its challenges though. When she presented at the 2017 Adult Video News (AVN) awards, Ana proudly wore an Afro, an African neckpiece, and a Kente cloth two-piece gown while saluting the audience with a Black pride fist. But the AVN didn’t share the enthusiasm of the audience; Ana later found that she was cut from Showtime's broadcast of the award show. “You saw me for one second. I felt so small... not seeing myself or any other black girls,” Foxxx told Glamour about the incident in 2017. Showtime responded that they “had to cut all the things that were political.” Ana felt it transcended politics. “I think my image was important for people to see that [in porn] we’re diverse,” she said. “Showing a positive image of an African American female on stage would have been a nice addition to the show.” Ana didn’t stop there. She also put up an Instagram post where she took the AVN to task for not being “a place where you can be free and express yourself.” She said that, “bringing diversity and love is all that I wanted to do in this industry because it’s seriously lacking. Ana finished by adding, “hopefully next year Black women will have a voice for once.” Ana continues to challenge the industry that employs her by speaking out against porn agents and producers who offer lower rates to performers based on race—which often regulates Black personalities to net the lowest salaries. “It's disrespectful on so many levels,” Ana told her Instagram followers: “ I don't wanna work with anyone who changes their rate to work with someone of a different race.”
The journey for this outspoken, opinionated vision has had challenges, but she’s managed to build a dynamic career along the way. After nearly a decade in the business, Ana has amassed quite an impressive résumé with appearances in over 100 adult videos, 20 adult TV series, and even three mainstream films (All American, Tangerine and The Toy). The actress whose birth name is Savana Maisah Johnson, was also nominated for the AVN Award for Best New Starlet in 2013. With her provocative personality, Ana has transcended the world of modeling and mainstream movies to conquer the adult movie industry.
