About

Birthplace
Ostermundigen, Switzerland
On the simple life
I take care of my flowers and my cats. And enjoy food. And that's living.
Something you don't know about me
I hate the word sexy.
On being naked
I have no problem with nudity. I can look at myself. I like walking around nude.
At one time, there was perhaps no better recognized sex symbol than Bond Barbie Ursula Andress. Best known for her role as bikini babe and first-ever Bond girl Honey Rider in Dr. No (she later starred as Vesper Lynd in Bond film, Casino Royale), the Swiss-born actress has appeared in popular American, British and Italian films – a true international treasure.

Following the breakout role, Andress’s other films include: She, The Fifth Musketeer, Clash of the Titans and others, starring along the likes of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Andress even briefly dated James Deen before his death. What many don’t know about Andress’s iconic scene – you know the one: Honey Rider emerges from the Caribbean Sea in a white bikini sporting a large diving knife on her hip – is, due to her heavy Swiss accent, directors used another woman’s voice for the character. Her beauty was that irresistible. So much in fact, that the white swimsuit worn in the scene sold for $60,000 in 2001. Naturally, Andress was a prime Playmate candidate, and graced our cover and pages (12 pages in a single spread, to be more specific) in June of 1965.

Posing for Playboy came natural to Andress, who considers herself something of a nudist. “I have no problem with nudity,” she said. “I can look at myself. I like walking around nude.” Her philosophy, like her favorite outfit (or lack of one) is refreshingly simple. “I take care of my flowers and my cats. And enjoy food. And that's living.”
